For the last week the dogs and I have been testing out the new trailer at Mt. Hood Village RV Resort. I can say with some certainty that the trailer appears to be well sealed and water resistant. I know this because it's been raining nonstop Forrest Gump style for the whole week.
Where we parked...
Mt. Hood Village RV Resort is a large camping resort located at the base of Mt. Hood and part of the Encore / Thousand Trails system. It is easy to locate just off Hwy 26 near Welches, OR.
The campsites here are mostly gravel back-in sites with full hook-ups and cable. Our site #66 was not very level and I noticed that most of the other campsites around us looked to be the same. There are lots of big trees around and I imagine when the spring and summer leaves return it will feel somewhat private despite the fact that the neighbors are packed in tight together. The resort is huge with 100's of RV sites, tent sites, cabins, and even a tiny house village. The pool and hot tub were badly in need of some attention and cleaning so I decided to skip them, but the laundry room was clean and reasonably priced. I also didn't see the bathroom or shower facilities because they were being remodeled during our visit. There was reliable Verizon and AT&T cell phone signal from my site, but the resort WiFi is only available in close vicinity to the main lodge.
Overall, the resort is just okay. I will most likely return to give it another chance in the spring or summer season when the weather will be better for taking advantage of the hiking and biking available on Mt. Hood. This week it has been very cold and rainy with temps ranging 29 to 47 F. After our first night I went back into town and purchased a heated water hose to keep our lines from freezing at night.
